Ciabot Berton crafts full-bodied red wines that honor the ecosystem of the vine and the unique terroir of the Langhe. All vineyards are nestled in the prestigious La Morra cru, with sites like Roggeri, San Biagio, Rive, and Rocchettevino facing Alba’s sunlit slopes. The Oberto family’s roots in winemaking trace back to the 1200s, but the modern story began in the 1950s, when Luigi Oberto and his father Giovenale tended Nebbiolo vines on Bricco San Biagio. Since the 1990s, Luigi’s children—Marco, an oenologist, and Paola, an agronomist—have brought new energy and expertise, continuing the family’s deep commitment to quality and tradition.

Wonderful aromas of red fruits, minerals and balsamic, with hints of rose, spices and wax. The palate is tangy and pleasant, with rich flavors of red fruit, spice and minerals as well as a very persistent finish that is well supported by tannins. The “1961” designation Barolo is a high-quality Barolo made from the best grapes on their estate, commemorating a significant year in their history, the year the Oberto family began estate bottling of their wines in the La Morra region of Piedmont. Made from 100% Nebbiolo and aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months.
