Perched on the ridge between the Fumane and Marano valleys, Montecariano’s vineyards stretch across sun-soaked, south-facing limestone hillsides. Mariella Gini, along with her sons Matteo and Marco, is devoted to preserving the character of this land and resisting the pull of uniformity. Their mission: to protect and promote native grape varieties like Pelara, Oseleta, Molinara, Teroldego, and Croatina, alongside the region’s classics—Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella. For the Gini family, each bottle is a tribute to memory, heritage, and the distinct soul of its territory.
Tasting Notes:
Bright ruby red in colour. The bouquet is classic Valpolicella, with the fresh notes of the Molinara grapes counterbalancing the red-berry notes of the Corvina and Rondinella. Extraordinary sapidity in the mouth. Very drinkable.
Grape Varieties:
Corvina and Corvinone 65%, Rondinella 25%, Molinara, Teroldego 10%.
