Tercero wines launched 20 years ago with a single goal—to make distinctive wines that are true to the epic Santa Barbara County vineyards and varieties they work with. Larry Schaffer, owner and winemaker, has continued to evolve his craft and favors old world winemaking techniques—all reds are foot stomped and fermented 100% whole cluster; only older French oak is used or stainless steel; his wines are not racked during fermentation; and he favors working with varieties that in and of themselves provide distinctiveness.
